Celebrating Chinese New Year

We arrived a half hour early to the Chinese New Year's celebration, so we stopped at a Chinese memorial park a few blocks away to take some pictures before the event.

I can hardly believe this is the fourth year in a row we have celebrated Chinese New Year with the Central Coast FCC (Families with Children from China). The girls are growing up so fast. Each year the celebration gets better and this year was no exception. There were lots of crafts and activities for the kids and plenty of entertainment, including a Tai Chi martial arts demonstration as well as the traditional lion dance.

All the kids are getting older, and now that the China adoption program has slowed down, there are very few babies in the crowd. It rained the whole afternoon, but it was a lovely turnout inside.

I don't know who the first lovely lady is, but the other three are my Chloe, Eva (also from Chloe's orphanage) and the other Chloe

The girls look so beautiful in their silks. Love the hair too! CNY is so much fun!

How fun. Our local FCC in Milwaukee also puts on a good CNY celebration. This year, we went to have dim sum at a local restaurant, but that was about it.

Lori, I'd like to two of your dresses for Lyra. Can you email me on julie @ london-kids.com?

They are lovely in their outfits! We did not do anything this year. Things got too hectic and both kids have been sick. Maybe next year.

So Glad you could make it - great pictures too and even without your new camera - enjoy getting to know it. Maybe we can do some more group outings as the kids get older.
